In this 2011 TMBV DVD, the 1991/1992 Lionel showroom layout was relocated to its new home at the Long Island railroad museum in Riverhead New York. This segment was narrated by Joe Stachler. The mount Clemens offices were closed in October 2008, and the layout was moved to southeastern New York in 2009. An interview with events manager Tom Nuzzo is included. Today almost each and every New Yorker, Connecticut resident if they take the ferry, or people from New Jersey, can get a close look at the 1991/1992 layout without driving or flying to Michigan. For the prices, adults are $7.00, Children from 5-12 are $4.00, and newborn babies to age 5 are 100% free. Afterwards, Jeff McComas talks about the history of Lionels model of the Alaska railroad freight sets with their own NW2 switchers. The freedom train song from I love toy trains part 12 was used. Afterwards a railscenes segment of the vision line New York Central 700E Hudson is shown. Next, Joe talks about the second part of Lionels action and animated cars. Next, Jeff talks about the modern era layout of Jim Schuling. Jim loves rock n roll music. Afterwards, producer Tom McComas talks about the history of the early decades of steam trains in America such as the best friend of Charleston, the John Bull, the DeWitt Clinton, and the stourbridge lion. Dubbed sound effects were used for this segment. Next, Joe teaches the viewers how to modify the MPC era locomotives from 1970-1985 with postwar parts. Finally, Jeff talks about the modern era layout of Douglas Spitler. On days when Douglas isnt operating the layout, he is a full time donut baker. |
