One of the newest GSVP dvds focuses on the vintage 8mm and 16mm films of various filmmakers as some of the 2-8-2s put on a fine show in the Colorado Rockies especially over the long gone Farmington branch, and the already ripped up Chama to Durango line. This was the first GSVP program to have an unexpected surprise. Here�s the answer: over the years, most of Greg�s programs from 1986-2016 was narrated by John Edward Hingsbergen. Unfortunately the N&W 611 trilogy Volume 3 was officially the last program to have Johnny�s narration, and nearly a year after it was released, Hingsbergen passed away during the thanksgiving season. On days when Hingsbergen isn�t available to help Greg with the programs, there have been some short substitutes. In 1993, his first 2-part set on the Chicago and Northwesten was narrated by the original Les Jarret/railway productions narrator Eric Green. In 1996, 3 out of 5 of the rare and out of print steam around the World Series, was narrated by Mike Leland. 21 years later in 2017, most of the programs minus the original 1987 editing of N&W 1218 rebuilt and Roanoke bound was narrated by Brian sellers. And now starting with this one along with the B25 gathering, it was narrated by long-time Railroader on YouTube, Christopher Kovacs AKA Trainmaster844. Who knows what would happen when guest narrators come and go to help Greg with his items that he is working on? Anyways, good program, great scenery and astonishing locomotives that most of them shown in this program are still with us today.
