Union Pacific never retired 4-8-4 number 844, She became the first in a line of significant steam locomotives to be saved and restored to operating condition and then used as ambassadors for the UP. The public loves seeing and riding behind big steam! But steam requires a lot of care, and after the 2013 excursion season, 844 was pulled for major work and preparation for a 15 year inspection. 844 made her public return to steam at the head of an excursion train from Denver to Cheyenne for the annual Frontier Days Rodeo. Highball Productions captured the action from the steam shop in Cheyenne to Denver and back again.

As a first customer of this item myself from the men who made this DVD, it features clips from other Railfan DVDs which includes: "Western Steam in the 1950's" by Main Line Motion Pictures, (To me its "Burlington Route steam" from 2005, & "844: The Early Years" from 2013 by Greg Scholl), "UP Super cabs and steam" by WB Video, & "Steam on the Double" By Valhalla Video. Now the facts of this engine are pointed out by surprise. For example(s), One Episode of History Channel's Trains Unlimited, & The Opening & Closing Credits of Shining Time Station, which in that case was actually the 1981 short film done by the Railroad called "Eighty-Four-Forty-Four" where you can still find it on "UP Trilogy" From Pentrex. Now about the 2-tone Gray segments on 844, Tim Says that the engine wear it throughout the '90s, but according to some other notable Railroad Producers, the engine wore that paint scheme from 1987-1991. Overall, interesting newcomer, Great DVD for railfans. Despite the program itself Doesn't have a menu and Previews and independent chapters. You'll have to watch this like a Videotape. After all its also a Non-Stop Feature which means it would loop over and over again.
