From the far northern regions of Illinois to East Chicago Indiana and everywhere in between, the reaches of CN's massive steel network are immense. Comprised of former Wisconsin Central, Elgin, Joliet and Eastern, Illinois Central and Grand Trunk Western trackage, this multi-part series will feature all the various lines Canadian National uses to move tonnage from several corners of the system into Chicagoland. In Volume One, we will focus on the former Wisconsin Central Waukesha Subdivision from the Wisconsin/Illinois Stateline to the connection with the former Elgin, Joliet and Eastern Leithton Sub at Trafton.
This production was 5 Years in the making, and viewers will see everything from the latest General Electric Deliveries with the "CN 100" livery, to several locomotives of CN's Heritage Fleet, to the leased power era of CitiRail, CEFX and PRLX locomotives adding a splash of color to locomotive lashups. Add in the last of the BC Rail units, Canadian cowl GE's, standard cab Dash 8's and former Oakway SD60's and you have plenty of motive power variety to behold. A few Metra moves on the North Central Service will also be featured which consist of their Amtrak-painted "California" F59PHI's and we'll also get a look at the Milwaukee Road heritage MP36 locomotive.

cn in & around chicago land is a great series c vision has done canadian national has acquired many railroads that operated in the chicago area such as the illinois centeral the wisconsin centeral and the elgin joliet & eastern adding to the grand trunk trackage in vol. 1 of cn in and around chicago land c vision looks at the former wisconsin centeral waukesha subdivision from the wisconsin/illinois stateline to the connection with the former elgin joliet and eastern leithton sub at trafton this video was shot over a 5 year span the highlights of the video includes many of cn's motive power from older power such as the cowl units in both cn and bc rail paint to the newer power such as the 100th anniversary units and 4 of the 5 heritage units cn reviled at the end of 2020 (as well as one of the two veteran units cn also released) there's also footage of metra moves on the north centeral service and footage of their amtrak painted california f59phi's and a look at the metra milwaukee road heritage unit this is a fantastic video looking at cn operating in the chicago area with lots of different motive power and what makes up the cn system today from it's predecessors this is worth every penny that is not to be missed
