Well, I hate to leave negative reviews, but this is one of the worst (and boring) rail videos I have ever watched. The best section was of the derailment in East Glacier. Other than that, the photographer is too close to the action or using telephoto lens which distorts the trains. And the narration is terrible. Can't understand most of the narration, although I recognize most of the landmarks due to prior visits to the same area. Would have been much better if the photographer had of been further away from the action which would also have shown more of the very beautiful scenery of Glacier National Park. Mountain pass's are a challenge for railroads, and add in the weather elements like winter.... the challenge dramatically increases. While maybe not the best video this producer has ever made, we have to give him credit for going after this challenge. Marias Pass is beautiful, in any season. Ok.... the narration could have been better, and so could the locations filmed. But it is not easy for a videographer to work in these conditions. When you take a good look at what is here with the heavy trains working to get through the pass, in poor weather conditions, you will enjoy this video. I like this program, I really do. The photography is wonderful and the scenery is beautiful thanks to Marias Pass giving us a breathtaking background. The many colors of the BNSF paint schemes scream their colors against the winter wonderland. However, I can't say this video comes with no faults. For one, the opening shots contain some very shaky camera work. The narrator comments about it being cold, so I can only imagine the reasons why the camera is shaking in a area also known for its high winds. So let's give it that. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
