In volume 5 made in 2006, this 55 minute video begins with the MTH Norfolk & Western layout of Anthony lash which was initially shown in various TMBV titles (Great MTH layouts part 1, and I love Toy Trains part 8). Some of Tony�s models includes a replica of 1218 for example. Note the bell that was recorded off of 4449. An animated map of Tony�s layout is included. Some locomotives on Tony�s layout are not 100% MTH. For example, there is Lionel�s barely decent model of the New York Central Hudson number 5344 from 1997, with sculling drivers and a Baltimore & Ohio Tender.

From the N&W layout, the OGR team heads to the B&O railroad museum in Baltimore for a look at the National capital trackers club layout. Inside the museum, there are lots of steam locomotives on display standing silent. A small camera has been placed in front of the model of 779 the last Nickel plate Berkshire to be made by Lima. And of course the real 779 is still on display. This layout has a huge mix of Lionel, MTH, K-Line, Williams, and several others. Sometimes there is a look forward footage of the track from the front of the O gauge diesel. Did you know that the NCT was formed in 1992? Lionel also made Union Pacific 4-12-2 number 9000. In fact the real 9000 is still on display at the rail giants museum in Pomona California. A head on chase of the two tone gray challenger is shown, plus another head on chase of 779. Also inside the museum, there is a resemblance layout of Lionel�s magic mountain display. One of Tony�s models of 1218 also makes a visit to the B&O museum layout.

Leaving the city of the very first railroad tracks to be made in America, the crew heads to the 2 rail layout of Louis Ertz. An animated map of Ertz�s layout is shown. Plus most of the structures, bridges and buildings are scratched built, especially the tracks. An interview with the OGR staff member Jim Barrett is included. On Ertz�s layout, a model of Big Boy 4025 is shown, although Union Pacific only made 25 of these strongest steam locomotives (4000-4024). Plus there is a musical montage of the entire layout.

Finally the OGR crew heads to the Illinois railway museum at Union, which includes an interview with one of the museum�s president and CEO Nick Kallas, a cab ride on the CB&Q Nebraska Zephyr, and various locomotives and trolleys operating, plus there is a layout that is visiting the museum known as the Midwest Hi-Railers club. A portion was covered in great layout adventures volume 2. A Baldwin built DT66-2000 number 21 is operating on the museum�s mainline. At one of the museum�s barns, Milwaukee road Fairbanks Morse H-10-44 number 760 is towing another switcher out of the barn as it leaves door 92. Next there is Burlington Northern F9-A number 1 and B unit 2 as it arrives at the siding. Inside one of the barns, there is the south shore Little Joe 803. Plus there are various signs, as well as Metra F7 operating on the double decker commuter train which is property of the Chicago & northwestern. One of the museum�s trolley cars number 3142 is shown. Also on display is Union Pacific Gas turbine number 18. Next the Nebraska Zephyr is waiting for the Metra commuter train to pass by. Meanwhile, car 415 departs the depot. A brief ride inside the trolley is shown. Then 3142 departs. Next to the turbine is Alco RSD-15 number 2407. Next to the Alco
Is C&G Baldwin AS416 number 606. Some cabooses are on display as well. An indirect mention of frisco 1630 is included. As the Zephyr arrives or departs the depot, another Burlington northern diesel is operating: U30c number 5383 is on a freight. Another Union Pacific diesel is on display starting to get covered in rust: centennial unit 6930. 6936 is the only centennial unit to be in operational condition during the excursion specials. Next to the 606 is Santa Fe SDFP45 number 92 in the warbonet scheme. A look at barn 6 is shown, followed by the rear of the Lackawanna coaches. One of the steam engines on display is Milwaukee road 265 (the sister engine to 261). Speaking of 261, a look at the operational northern is shown on a test run in 1993. Another look at the layout is included, as well as an interview with one of the 4449 crew members Jack Wheelihan as he is wearing a challenger 3985 shirt, with one of the centennial units in the background. On a different layout, a look at Lionel�s model of the New York Central 5444 Hudson is shown. With the commuter train gone, the Zephyr resumes its journey. Car 415 passes by the picnic section as it arrives and departs. During the cab ride segment, OGR staff member Jim Barrett is enjoying the eye of the Zephyr, while inside the coaches, kallas explains the story of the Zephyr. Operating at the throttle of the Zephyr is Dave Schroeder. On the return trip, Jim operates the second horn as it arrives back at the museum grounds.

Overall, NKP 765 engineer Rich Melvin did an outstanding job narrating this program.
