Ride on board KCOAT, a 5600 foot autorack train with clean SP power, on a sunny December day, over Colorado's Tennessee Pass, from Pueblo to Minturn. See the Royal Gorge from the lead SSW GP60's walkway, the Arkansas River Gorge, and the steady climb to the deep snow at the summit. On the way, meet 6 eastbound trains and a stalled westbound at Princeton. No narration. This is NOT a straight ahead only view.

Because Tennessee Pass is now history and getting a cab ride perspective is truly rare indeed, this is worth purchasing. I have two major problems with the program, however. First is that a disproportionate amount of the shots are looking backward at the train and not at the incredible views looking forward. Second is that the amazing views in the Royal Gorge were squandered with shots of the power from the second and third units. What a missed opportunity!

It is very easy for me to sit here and critise this DVD but without camera crew / production teams efforts I would never have been able to "travel" along this route. To be fair the route and traction is excellent but you do notice the quality of the picture as we get further into the mountain region gets less sharp, however that does not detract from the route taken. What is the REAL problem is that you are continually being subject to different camera shots in rapid succession which is most annoying as you hardly settle into one camera direction when you are switched to another. Great idea production team but less of it would have made this DVD more enjoyable.
