This was my first Cab Ride DVD and I initially only purchased Parts 1 & 2.

In short - I really liked it. There's crew talk and some radio chatter. Commentary referring to local spots and history along the route, including some current events of the day. The camera is very stable during the ride and only points out the front window. They occasionally move it from one side to the other, but never at the Engineers seat or such and it's a very clear picture considering the age of the camera They start recording right from the start in the yard, rolling through to the Main Line, they even call out speeds, up to 55mph as I recall.

I play the DVD while working on my layout, so it makes a good atmosphere type movie, I personally wouldn't just put it on to watch in the recliner like I'm watching a Sunday football game. BUT, I really did like it, enough to buy parts 3 & 4 as I wasn't sure how the first set was going to be.

I enjoy cabrides very much. I thought this one would be a good one to add to my video library. For me it was too slow. The train crawls about 5 mph I think and the scenery is very plain for me. Someone may like this better than I do. not much chatter by the crew. I don't think I'll watch part 2. I kept nodding off and it was hard keeping my eyes open. If you enjoy it, get it. I wouldn't recommend it for kids. But who knows. They may actually like it.
Additional comments:
Narration: No narration.
Would kids enjoy this? Maybe.
Image quality: A little rough around the edges.
Value: Overpriced.
Recommend? Only if really interested.
