Train Depot is selling this DVD in just the plain paper envelope -but -it is a great bargain. This video does an excellent job of not only showing numerous trains in the Canadian Rockies but does an excellent job of showing the beauty of The Canadian Rockies. The narrator explains the reasons for the names of various places and also names various mountain peaks. I enjoyed every minute of it. The Canadian Pacific Railway between Calgary Alberta and Vancouver British Columbia is possibly the most scenic stretch of railroad anywhere in North America. Highball Productions has done a fine job covering the territory. In this video, the line covered is from Exshaw Alberta to Field British Columbia, and takes in the world famous Spiral Tunnels. Many freights are seen, and the tour trains... The Rocky Mountaineer and the Royal Canadian Pacific making appearances. The scenery is awesome, and the locations are the best to be found. And there is lots of wildlife to be seen. I will note the the narrator does refer to the trees and a bit of problems getting good photo shoot locations. Remember, the territory covered is in the Banff National Parkland, so trespassing is not an issue. All it takes for a good location is some energy to do a bit of hiking. Otherwise, this video is as flawless as anyone can find. The only real thing of note is the price. I would say that it is slightly high. Well done Highball. Peter Crook and company need to be commended for this "must have" video presentation. |
