The Cass Scenic Railroad is known for its steep grades - up to 11% - and its big Shay locomotives. And Western Maryland Shay #6 is the biggest. Join us as we travel on and next to slow moving Cass trains during two special "Photo Weekends". WM Shay #6 is the biggest Shay ever built and operated at Cass for many years after being retired from revenue duty on the WM.
We'll ride a caboose behind a "logging train" and shoot an empty "logging train" on a rare trip on new track - as it heads all the way to Spruce! Color, Sound, Narration.

While this video features special trains during the opening of the railroad's 1992 season, it's nice to capture some great action of the only surviving but operational WM shay.
