Kansas City Southern, the smallest of the Class 1's is a vibrant railroad with plenty of action, and some very interesting railroading. In this video, we are treated to some yard work, local action, and mainline action. Throw in a few visitors like Gateway Western, and a few other shortlines with their older power, and you see a complete video at it's finest. Up and over some Arkansas mountains, with a pusher service, some train meets, and great scenery. All of KCS's engine types are see in action, including an old F-unit. What a treat that the other Class 1's no longer have in service. The chemical industry is big time service in the south, and we see a lot of action in operation. Norfolf Southern and Southern Pacific power makes appearances. We even get to see a caboose still being used. I have been very pleased with the purchase of this video. An over all great video that is a must for all railfans to own. Kansas City Southern on DVD Chase Freeman (Grundy VA US) on 2017-05-08 19:25:51.

As with all the Pentrex videos in my library, this is a MUST HAVE. You'll see dirty white EMD locomotives pulling freight across some beautiful scenery. Many of the locomotive are equppied with Leslie RS5Ts, the king of locomotive airhorns. Another neat thing in this video are the rare SD40X locomotives. You'll see them in pusher service as well as working the headend. This is a must for any KCS fan! |
