The Big Buck is a classic John Deere 4020 tractor transformed into a dream machine by legendary hot-rod designer Chip Foose.

We trace the magic from the day the 4020 was delivered to Foose Design in Huntington Beach, CA to when the Big Buck was presented to its new owner in Waterloo, IA almost a year later.

Known for his innovative designs and sophisticated style, Chip Foose is a living legend in the automotive industry. His work has been seen on the cable series Overhaulin', and in movies like Blade Runner, Gone in 60 Seconds, and Cars.

Chip Foose creates original automotive art. The Big Buck stands in grand testimony not only to Chip's vision, but to his ability to put rivets into his dreams.

In this soon to be 10 year old DVD from 2011, the program starts with an opening on screen monologue where in 2009, the John Deere company requested chip foose to customize a 4020 tractor. These models were manufactured from 1964 to 1972. After the main title, there are still images where at one point, the announcer mentioned that chip painted a race car for NASCAR driver Jeff Gordon. While chip is being interviewed by the TMBV crew, the 4020 tractor arrives on a flatbed truck on November 11, 2009. Here chip makes a move of hauling the tractor from The truck to his workshop. At the workshop, there are lots of classic cars & trucks. In order to modify the 4020 tractor, there are steps to follow. First chip uses a pencil and paper to create some idea sketches.

During the idea segment an interview with marketing exc. David Jones is shown where he goes in to a conference room with art director Todd Meyers listening to the ideas. Meanwhile a look outside the John Deere agricultural marketing center is included. Back at chip's workshop, the crew has until March 3, 2010 to get the tractor finished. At chip's office, he has one of the toy tractors.

For early planning, there are some black and white photographs of the modified vehicles. Next, a pencil sketch is included where modifications would be made. Chip has to make the tractor smaller where in order to do that, he has to remove the smaller rear tire. One of the parts that chip has to alter is the air vent.

While chip's crew worked on The modified parts, David talks about the history of the 4020 tractors. Which includes vintage commercials, & company films that these clips were shown on the bonus features from the John Deere country 3 part series. Next, a visit to the John Deere shops are included where David talks about the parts on the 4020. Some action footage of one of the tractors are shown.

The fabrication begins as chip talks about the details: the steering column where he has to remove the original seat & steering wheel, install the New tires to remove the actual tires on the 4020, & install new parts to the frame.

While the tractor is Still undergoing some modifications, chip talks about his own company. Which includes his own family photos. For cars & trucks, chip has a 1956 ford f-100 pick up truck. Which was owned by chip's father Sam. Growing up from a kid to young adult, chip went to the art center college of design. At one point, chip designed cars for Chrysler. Some years went by until one day, Boyd cottington requests to chip that he wants to work on new models until the company went out of business. Today since 1998, chip owns & operates his family owned workshop. Prior to being on this TMBV title, chip & his crew were on a 5 season reality show from discovery channel. It was called overhaulded.

With only 2 weeks to go before the big showcase, more parts are painted, more fabrication is performed, & The parts are newly assembled. During The painting part of this segment, an interview with crewmember Richard Kline is shown.

With just 24 hours left before the grand reveal, the crew is putting on the finishing touches: detailed decals, reassembled parts, & removing nubbs on the tires. Next stop Anaheim.

At the Anaheim convention center which is not far from Disneyland, there is a ceremony going on. With the unveiling finished, chip talks about the parts, and how he modifies them with some help from his crew.

With the show finished, David talks about putting the tractor on the drive green caravan. The drive green caravan is a truck that carries some machines to John Deere expos. Assistant marketing executive: Andrew Jones asks a question to John Deere ambassador Richard Gohlke. Another John Deere ambassador Jim stoffregen also talks about the tractor where it was mentioned on tv. The drive green caravan has been to almost each and every state in the American mainland.

So who's the winner anyway? Well, during the convention in Waterloo Iowa, it's Harold Beaver who won the sweepstakes. Here he makes a speech & makes a thank you response to chip & his crew. After that, chip also makes a speech at the same convention. Local news crews were there for the filming.

With the convention finished, Harold & chip are at the John Deere Waterloo Iowa assembly shops. Here chip makes an interview with the winner of the sweepstakes himself who traveled all the way from North Carolina.

In the closing credits, there are outtakes, & extended cuts of the Waterloo ceremony.

The main program is 30 minutes while there are 10 minutes of previews, & there are 2 bonus segments: the foose gallery, & looking back at the models of John deere.
