This video is valuable because it covers portions of the mainline usually ignored by others. It's generally well shot, especially around Point of Rocks and Lodgepole. And there's a great sequence with many meets at Owasco. However...

It's yet another "videographer's excellent adventure", in the style of John Koch/Green Frog. One camera and one cameraman in a hurry to get somewhere else. No second angles, no chases, no pacing. For example, Challenger 3985 goes by headed east trailing Centennial 6936 but he doesn't follow it! And he really doesn't know much about the region or the UP. He has an inappropriate voice and should be prohibited from doing narration, but fortunately you can turn him off. He actually claims cotton is a major crop in Nebraska! There's a mysterious image of a C-130 flying overhead - why? He visits Sidney without visiting Sidney, and ignores the possibilities of the BNSF overpass there. He doesn't know where the Julesburg sub goes (to Denver!). He ignores historically significant preserved depots right in front of him (as at Julesburg) as well as other points of interest. There are far too many nosy and backlit "arty" shots in which you can't even make out whose unit it is.

He could do better.

Personally, I like this video. It is great to see different locations in several states. The scenery is great in most cases. Lots of powerful units working hard. There is a question about the narrator's knowledge of the regions he is in. Seems to get mistaken at times. So, that point alone... it does make the video a bit less interesting. For UP fans and people who like the regions covered... still a decent video.
