Ride along with us as we take you for an unforgettable train trip into the wild mountains of West Virginia on the Potomac Eagle Excursion Train. Vintage 1950s-era diesel locomotives power this scenic train as it follows the South Branch of the Potomac River into the deep gorge known as the Trough. Besides the scenic train ride patrons are also usually treated to the sight of one or more of the rare American Bald Eagles that nest in the Trough region, within sight of the train. Our cameras show onboard coverage of the train, which includes Classic Club Dining service, plus views of the train in the magnificent West Virginia Scenery. Through special arrangement with the operators of the Potomac Eagle Train this video brings you views of the train in the inaccessible regions of the trough that are rarely seen. The history and beauty of the train and the surrounding country will make a nice souvenir of the ride, or make you want to pack your bags and buy a ticket for the next departure. In addition to the normal train ride our video also shows some special publicity shots there were set-up by the producers and the railroad, plus you'll see a special segment in the fall colors in the Trough. The video was done as a souvenir for the train to sell onboard, and in addition enthusiasts will enjoy the GP9 in originally B & O passenger livery, CSX F-unit #118, and an FPA4 ALCO that is now at the Grand Canyon Railroad. We also did some wild shooting ahead of their train from a position ahead of the train which provides an interesting view. This railroad is highly recommend for the enthusiast and tourist alike.
