Galesburg Illinios, roughly 200 miles west-southwest of Chicago, was once the center of 7 different railroads coming into town in a spoke like pattern. Today, all but one railroad, the Burlington Northern Santa Fe plus Amtrak serve this community. However, the railroad action has not slowed down at all. There is lots of big long trains, from many directions, including a flyover, that can be viewed. The local territory near the town is also covered in this video, and we are treated to a unique transfer point outside of town where we see Amtrak crossing over from one of the old lines to a different line. The narration is informative, and some maps are shown to help understand some of the uniqueness of the Galesburg area. Over all: A very fine presentation of a good area for trains. I believe that all railfans will enjoy this video.
