One of the classic Twin Cities railroad icons for many years was a daily train in St. Paul known as the Ford Hauler. Beginning in the Milwaukee Road Days, this train continued throughout the ranks of the Soo Line and finally the Canadian Pacific, hauling automobile parts and finished vehicles to and from the St. Paul Ford Plant. The plant, which at the time was producing the Ford Ranger pickup, was shut down permanently in December 2011. This not only ended an era for Ford in the Twin Cities, but also for the CP's Ford Hauler. In this presentation, Videographers Douglas Hildebrandt and Chris Laskowski capture the Ford Hauler on several occasions, leading up the last days of its operation.
You will see Canadian Pacific and Soo Line GP 38-2's and GP 40's in charge of trains climbing Short Line Hill past famous landmarks as Dayton's Bluff, Fordson Junction and St. Paul's Summit Brewery. Plenty of switching action is captured at Ford Yard.

Not only will you see trackside views of the Hauler, but you also get a chance to view operations within the factory before and after the shutdown.

Don't miss this tribute to one of the greatest industrial train operations in the Twin Cities! Enjoy all the historic action in Canadian Pacific's Ford Hauler!

I bought this video mainly for the content.I like the Industrial type train videos and this was pretty decent.Alot of old GP38-2 and GP40's(CP,SOO).The video quality is decent, just wish there were more close up shots of the Loco's.The footage of the Ford Ranger plant was really cool, not something you get to see in most train videos. For the money it's a good value.

i had watched this the other day and this was the most unique video i've seen canadian pacific's ford hauler looks at cp's ford hauler a train delivering for the ford plant when the factory was in the twin cities of minnesota which started in the days of the milwaukee road than latter with the soo line and finally canadian pacific you'll get a chance to see the ford hauler train passing many locations including Dayton's Bluff, Fordson Junction and St. Paul's Summit Brewery as well as seeing switching at the ford yard there's also footage inside the factory which was making the ford ranger pickup truck with many interesting scenes seeing the pickup trucks being made and you'll footage of loading the pickup's inside the auto rack cars before and after the ford plant shut down the power featured is mostly done by gp-38-2's and gp-40's many in canadian pacific red and many still in their paint from the soo line the ford plant closed in december 2011 and this would bring an end to the ford hauler for cp but this was the most unique video i've seen c vision productions done an amazing job capturing this unique train it's a great video you won't regret buying

Very nice subject and dvd. However I prefer mainline action as to back and forth switching. I did enjoy watching this. Great content and factory scenes. Well done camera work. Would recommend.
