I had this as a VHS tape which has now been donated to a railroad friend. The dvd image is quite a bit more clear than the old tape, and shows much more detail especially at the beginning of the program (the 1930s) where the original material was obviously more marginal than much of the color stuff from the 40's. The rarity of a lot of the 30's subjects is amazing. on the C&S we have #70 puttering around the Blackhawk line, On a 5 engine freight bound for Leadville, we have leased D&RGW #346 (post wreck) and #345, as well as C&S #58 and another unidentifiable engine blasting up Platte Canyon to Como at literally maybe 3 to 5 mph. We have a mogul on a passenger train on Boreas Pass, shots of the Como roundhouse and shots of the Leased Q #537 , #8 and #60 running light down the canyon as well as #60 on the last Leadville Passenger and several locations. There is a great 40s section on the D&RGW as well. Sound is OK, out of sync some of the time. Truly goofy music as was a specialty of Sunday River, or so it seemed.

Additional remarks by D.W.:
Narration: Just enough.
Would kids enjoy this? Maybe.
Image quality: Good.
DVD Value: Excellent Value!
