This is quite an interesting production considering that it was made shortly after the fall of the Soviet Union. Aside from the views of railway operations, it also shows some scenes of life in the new Russian Federation. Overall it's a nice production and should be good for anyone wanting a general view of not only Russian steam power as well as life in the country at the time.

The only major problem that knocked a star off for me was that it is obvious that the sounds of the trains were not taken at the same time the footage itself was shot and as a result, they often do not match correctly. For example, there are cases where the locos sound like they are working hard onscreen, but it doesn't show them doing so on screen. For a general viewer, this may not be an issue but to me it was noticable.
