This DVD is just packed with vintage action from my beloved Sacramento Northern. I used to live less than a mile from the Oakland hills tunnel portal, and for years never even knew about the SN. Once I found out, I became obsessed with learning more about it and exploring the surprisingly few artifacts left. The SN was once the longest electrified interurban in the country spanning from Chico, CA to San Francisco, CA. For a native Oaklander (4 generations) this video is an invaluable link to childhood memories and the years before I arrived that figured in so many of my parents stories of their lives and adventures. This DVD is incredibly fascinating. Great shots of operations in and around San Francisco Bay. Only thing this DVD suffers from is way too much narration. Good video really liked it has a lot of things I did not know about. It's a video that leaves you with wanting to know more. Learned a lot and gave me a lot of ideas for my model train and a couple of other railroads I want to learn more about. This is a interesting production, I especially enjoy looking at the footage of pre WW-II San Francisco/Bay Area and comparing it to today. Thanks to this video, I know a lot more about Bay Area rail history.
