Curtis Hill - BNSF DVD 4 of 5 (2)
Curtis Hill, Oklahoma is still a major bottleneck on BNSF's former Santa Fe transcon between Chicago and Los Angeles. The east slope of the hill was double tracked in 1995, the west side is currently being double tracked, but there is still the single track over the Cimarron River. Curtis Hill is also the location of the longest continuous curve on the former Santa Fe between Chicago & LA. Loads of action, with fleeted trains, lots of different power. Taped in May, 2004.

This is a typical runby railroad video. Lots of long trains, many are intermodals. Being that I did not have much on Oklahoma, I wanted this video. Yes, it is a good video. The scenery is as much a part of it as the trains themselves are.
Additional remarks by rrvideoman: Narration: Could have used more. Would kids enjoy this? I doubt it. Image quality: Excellent! DVD Value: Good Value Recommend to others? Yes.

If you like endless intermodal trains pulled by modern GE power, this DVD is for you. Highball Productions takes a look at a rarely seen portion of the BNSF Transcon in Oklahoma. Most of the power is dressed in the BNSF Heritage II paint scheme but Santa Fe and Burlington Northern units show up too. Foreign power consists of a few Norfolk Southern, Union Pacific, CSX, and Canadian National units. As with all Highball Productions, maps are on the primitive side and narration is sparse although I have to say the narration was better in this DVD. Overall, an interesting look in BNSF's scenic operations in Oklahoma.
Additional remarks by Charles B.: Narration: Could have used more. Would kids enjoy this? Maybe. Image quality: Good. DVD Value: Good Value Recommend to others? Definitely.
