Originally released in 1994, this program covers some great diesel action in the modern era with flashbacks to steam in the 1960s & 1970s plus US Army 2-8-0 number 610 at the Tennessee valley railroad museum in Chattanooga during the opening & closing scenes while wearing a replica of a Casey Jones type whistle.<br><br><br>Here are the segments that appear in order with on-screen host & narrator Dan Chandler:<br><br><br>1. Canada’s Goderich & Exeter on the former Canadian National Branch Line out of Stratford with a cab ride (More coverage of this short line can be found on the G&E video with Bob Carrera narrating)<br><br><br>2. The Pinsley Railroad Company in Florida with Florida Midland Alco S2 number 107 that also has a cab ride as well, Florida Northern with former Santa Fe CF7 number 50 on the CSX connection that has a pair of Seaboard units in charge, And Florida Central with CF7 number 49 with a little bit of pacing, & street running with a cab ride.<br><br><br>3. A short look at the Hump Yards like Cincinnati’s Queensgate Yard on CSX for example with Conrail & Chessie System as well as vintage films by Emery Gulash in B&O & C&O days.<br><br><br>4. The Allegheney Railroad in Western Pennsylvania shot by Robert McCormack in February of 1993 during minus Zero Degree weather, as he witnessed more of the ex: AT&SF CF7s in action on a freight, that also has some more pacing scenes included.<br><br><br>And 5. 1960s & 1970s steam action with Nickel plate road 759 at Jim Thorpe Pennsylvania in 1968, with a trip to Buffalo New York in 1970, & Canadian Pacific 1278 as 127 heading to Jim Thorpe in 1966 as well as on the Lehigh Valley in 1968. Today, 759 last ran in 1973 & it’s still on display at the Steamtown National Historic Site in Scranton, while 127/1278 was retired in 1995 due to a boiler explosion at the Gettysburg Railroad & today it’s on display at the Age of Steam Roundhouse in Sugar Creek Ohio.<br><br><br>A Bonus Behind the Scenes segment of this program is featured at the end.
