Here's a very good video on a road you don't see much of - The Rock Island Line. This dvd contains excellent footage of the Rock's diesels in all its various tuscan red paint schemes as well as some footage at the end depicting the blue and white scheme used in its last years until 1980.
Lots of images of the RI Rockets, their premiere art-deco styled passenger trains, as well as bi-level commuter cars and of course, lots of freight operations. There's also a steam excursion of locomotive 4501 and some unusual cars seen such as a custom built wing-carrying freight car used to transport airplane wings from Boeing. An nice musical intro (typical of Green Frog videos)and some historical background round out this well-made program.
Additional comments:
Narration: Just enough.
Would kids enjoy this? Maybe.
Image quality: A little rough around the edges.
Value: Good value.
