A visit to Arizona during the transition of the 1980s into the 1990s was made as former Lake Superior & Ishpeming 1910 Alco Built Consolidation number 18 operated trips on the former Santa Fe Branch Line from Williams to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon itself. Along the way near Coconino Canyon, a pair of Blue & Yellow Santa Fe diesels were called to assist the steam engine into the Grand Canyon depot. Today number 18 has since been moved to other railroads in America after leaving the Grand Canyon Railway in 2006: The Mount Hood Railroad in Oregon, the since-closed Rio Grande Scenic Railroad on Colorado's La Veta Pass Line, & recently at the Colebrookdale Railroad in Boyertown Pennsylvania. Some of these scenes were not only used in TM Books & Videos I Love Toy Trains Parts 5, 7, & The Best of Parts 7 to 12, but it was also featured in the opening & closing credits of the PBS Christmas Special from 1990: Shining Time Station-'Tis A Gift.
