Absolutely sensational scenery. It brought back memories of being an engineer in the South Island of New Zealand working west on the Tranz Alpine Express. It has inspired me to investigate employment in British Colombia... its that good!!! Not really a 'Cab Ride' dvd as such, but has a perfect mix of in cab and track side action. If you like Canada and Trains... this is for you.

A thoroughly enjoyable video showing off British Columbia's magnificent scenery and some of the trains that traverse it. A good part of the film is viewed from the cab which is always a thrill for those of us who never get to do that. Picture quality and set-up of the shots is professional. Sound is greatly enhanced if the viewer has a home-theatre sound system – the deep thrumming sounds of a big engine at work can be felt in one's chest. Really neat! At 1 hour 45 minutes in length, with no significant "dull" sections, this film is a very good value. Children will enjoy it if viewed in segments appropriate for their age.

Initially I was a little disappointed that this DVD didn't cover the rail line between Vancouver to Squamish - known locally as the Sea To Sky route - but ultimately the more northerly portion of the (X) BC Rail line that was covered (Squamish to Prince George) was full of amazing scenery and great train action. As always, the railroad goes through incredible areas not usually seen from the highway and this DVD was full of such locales - highly recommended.

BC Rail Cab Ride From Sea to Sky is an interesting dvd, full of different aspects of the railroad, its people and the machines and all that backgrounded by the outstanding scenery of British Columbia! Also some closer look behind-the-scenes of railroading with explanation (f.e. how to cut in a midtrain helper locomotive). Definitely a must a have for every BC rail fan!

Well B.C.Rail has always been a special place to me, a very one of a kind R.R. to me!! Some of the most breathtaking scenery in the world!!!!! This cab ride DVD is by far one of the best from Pentrex that they have done!!! From its Budd RDC'S to its freight operations this will take you on an excellent journey into British Columbia that you will watch over and over!!! Lots of rails along lakes and rivers, ledges right by the water, AND LOTS OF SHOTS FROM THE GROUND TOO!!! Wow what lucky railroaders they are!!!!! Excellent Stuff, Great Work, A MUST HAVE!!!!!

When you think of railroading in Canada, you would mainly think of east/west running. There are not many north/south lines in Canada, least not of any distance. The BC Rail is just than, and even more so, based in the heart of the Canadian western mountains.

This video does a great job of showing us the challenges of running through the mountains with many lakes, rivers and valleys to pass by and cross. The scenery is excellent showing many cliff side locations, many meets of freight and RDC Budd cars. Even a "school train" makes an appearance. Since BC Rail has become a "fallen flag", many of these scenes are all but a memory today. Part of the video is a cab ride, which really shows the beauty and challenges of the region.
This is another Pentrex video that many model railroaders can get plenty of ideas from for building the next phase of the dream in the basement.

A great video for a good price.
