Shot on Memorial day weekend of last year, 611 has what it takes to be one of every railfan's favorite mainline giant. Now here's an unexpected Surprise. This program was the Very first time since Colorado's Scenic Train Rides from 2000 to have Music By Mike Lynch who unfortunately died this past January Along with the Original GSVP Narrator John Edward Hingsbergen. Mike's Scores from America By Rail The Heartland which surprise surprise would Turn a Big 25 in a few months, was used for this program. These Trips would mark one of 611's final journeys Due to the so called Amtrak President Dick Anderson creating the No Steam Giants Allowed Policy along with 4449, 765, 261, 3751, 844, Big Boy 4014, Santa Fe 2926, C&O 2716, and of course 611. i've bought a few railway productions videos before and this was one of two videos that caught my attention norfolk & western 611 on home follows n&w 611 on the old n&w mainline in 2017 during the Roanoke trips in 2017 traveling over both the blue ridge and Christiansburg grades one of the interesting things i found neat was with shots of 611 sitting next to n&w class a 1218 and when Chesapeake & ohio 614 was at the Virginia museum of transportation until it was moved to where it is today at in Clifton forge this was about the same time when james parfey of steam train videos recorded for n&w 611 reborn vol.5 (which is the last video of the reborn series which i made a review of it if you want to check it out) i watched this twice when i got it yesterday it was a really enjoyable video and has vary nice music the second video i bought with this was the Milwaukee road 261 steam in the north video which i haven't watched yet but will when i get the chance this is a great video of the most beloved steam locomotive of today |
