Best of 1986 DVD Bill S (Houston, TX) on 2023-04-10 21:27:05.
I had this on VHS in the last century and don't know what happened to it. Since it was on sale about 80% off, I threw the DVD in with my order-why not! Lots of good material-many SD45s, anticipated SP/ATSF merger yellow and red paint scheme locos, Steam Expo, many mountains and tunnels-great scenery. Decent picture quality for being filmed decades ago. My only complaint-this is my only Pentrex video(and I have about 20 of them)is there's not much narration. Best of 1986 DVD Steamboy (Revere MA US) on 2017-08-07 17:13:33.
First the video starts with the Santa fe museum train as lots of historic engines combined to create an ultimate mash up of older power of mostly diesels, a rare doodlebug, and steam engines 5021 and 2925 on their way to the new home at the California state railroad museum in Sacramento with some good pacing action. Then its up to the feather canyon for the Chicago and north western special in august as they pulled the american association of railroad's OT committee private VIP train. In April we head to Barstow for the test run of the EMD GP 60s on the at&sf to the big loop and Bakersfield. Plus a clip show from the over produced Denver & Rio grande western video, a look at the needles subdivision in 5 locations, SP 4449 To los Angeles for "Tough guys", the trains of Canada, and many other highlights. |
