The line from San Francisco to San Jose and beyond has been in continuous operation since the 1860s and is one of the busiest stretches of railroad on the west coast. Join us for a tour of some of the most interesting stations and locations on the Caltrain right-of-way in the first half of 2005.
See Caltrain's venerable F40PH and new MP36PH locomotives in action. Witness rolling meets as Baby Bullet express trains overtake slower trains as they speed along the San Francisco peninsula.
Get a look at Caltrain's connecting railroads, too, including San Francisco's MUNI, BART, Santa Clara County's VTA light rail, Altamont Commuter Express (ACE), Amtrak, Amtrak California, and even some UP!
Produced by a professional videographer in cooperation with a longtime railfan, this is a very high quality video with stunning footage and plenty of historical and contemporary information about the Caltrain line.
Run time: 90 min
DVD version features bonus still photo library with 99 images!
"Caltrain 2005 by TSG Multimedia is the most detailed and inclusive picture of the San Francisco/San Jose/Gilroy commuter rail service since its first run January 16, 1864. The photography is top flight and the narration detailed and accurate."
