Winter action on the Wisconsin Central in January, 1999. We visited a couple of hot-spots, Junction City and Byron Hill for all the action. Lots has changed since our visit in 1996, welded rail is now in place, train speeds are higher and CN has trackage rights. WC, CN, CP, NS, CSX and Conrail in fair weather and foul, everything from bright sunny and frigid days to heavy snow, and raw ugly rain.

This video was made not to long before the greedy Canadian National got their hands on this regional railroad and sent the Wisconsin Central to the history books. So, with the CNR already having trackage rights, we see plenty of action that would not have been seen only a few years before. And not to forget the run through action of the CSX and NS. The winter scenes are very enjoyable as we watch the trains kicking up the snow. As the hours tick down on the WC, it is great to see all this wonderful action in the prime of winter. Well done.
