Beautiful coverage of this tourist line which runs on ex-Western Maryland trackage. An Alco RS-3 and FPA-4 haul this train through great mountain scenery.

Photographed way before the restoration of 2 Baldwin Built Steam engines on the Cumberland to Frostburg Line: former Lake Superior & Ishpeming 2-8-0 number 734 built in 1916 that used to be on display at the Illinois railway museum in Union Illinois, & Chesapeake & Ohio 2-6-6-2 number 1309 built in 1949 after being on display outdoors in Baltimore, this program covers a great variety of ALCO diesels during 1991-1992: RS-3 number 199 which was originally Delaware & Hudson 4075, & FPA-4 number 305 that was originally Canadian National 6771. Today 199 is at the Naugatuck railroad in Connecticut as New Haven 1508, & 305 is back to its original number, but it’s operating at the Cuyahoga Valley Line in Ohio with sister engine 6780 (later B&O 800 that also used to operate on the western Maryland scenic railroad in the 90s). Angles from both trackside, & inside the cab is also included.
