Given the likes of OSHA and other such agencies today, it is hard to imagine a time when men worked hard, really hard and in dangerous and unforgiving conditions. A time when human life was always at risk and sometimes it seems, had little value. The first part of this program clearly shows and lends truth to this time. That some of this film even exists, almost defies logic. Some truely great logging footage is to be found in this dvd, both on and off rail. Much credit must be given to those who made the effort to photgraph the industry, its' men and machinery. Is this an educational or a logging program? It's both-we can all learn something from it. I anxiously await the next volume.

This video of the logging railroads is truly inspiring to my peers. I could see how does it take for lumberjacks and other men to work in many lumber-distributing business with trains and power.
