Originally shot on Super 8mm color film with sound. Following her 1976 Freedom Train trips we watch the 610 head east out of Fort Worth and she steams to her new home on the Southern Railway at Birmingham, Alabama. Included is the March 2, 1976 dead head move over the MoPac out of Fort Worth, the March 3 move from Shreveport to Vicksburg over the ICG, and the March 4, 1976 move over the ICG from Vicksburg to Meridian. Next we feature numerous fantrips on the Southern between 1977 and 1980, including Birmingham to Chattanooga and Cincinatti, Atlanta to Toccoa, on the N&W between Roanoke and Bluefield and even more trips out of Birmingham. Ends with her return from Memphis to Fort Worth on January 30-31, 1981 which were her last two days to operate. Filmed by Charles Chambers in the decade before videotape and camcorders, this program offers a rare look at this brief period when the 610 returned to the rails.
