Tehachapi Cab Ride DVD Highball Productions 🔍 Click to enlarge Cover image may differ from actual product
This is a fascinating ride from Bakersfield to Barstow over Tehachapi Pass. Eight units power the Z NBYWSP-9, BNSF's hottest train, with C40-8W #861 on the point. The view is straight ahead from Caliente to Mojave, but with many roving camera shots, especially around the famous loop. The conductor provides information on the line to a trainee. The video was taped by Roy Knighton, a transportation specialist, who has ridden and taped on the head end of a number of trains.

A excellent cab ride of one of the most famous and unique train spots in the USA. Techachapi, Calif. where long trains cross over themselves, above a tunnel, as they go up a mountain. Excellent photography, with multiple views in some places, makes this video a must have. I felt as though I was a passenger sitting next to the engineer looking forward in the front seat of the engine. One of the best cab ride videos ever made.

On a related note, I am a little surprised it was not included (as of May 22, 2013), in the Cab Ride section of Train Video Depot. I am sure that many people, who enjoy train cab rides and who are interested in Tehachapi, would buy this video if they found it in the Cab Ride section on the upper left hand side of the screen.

Enjoyed watching this DVD plus the fact that you are with the Crew all the time and not just having the camera locked down in the forward position. The only downside is the audio mixing tends to drown out the crews voices.

Saw this dvd at a display at a train show(train video depot) and decided to buy it,due to its length and content. If you ever wondered what the Tehachapi line from Bakersfield to Mohave and beyond looks like this video WILL DEFINITELY be the one to buy! The camera shots are clear and steady and the side shots are just as good as high def in spots. There is cab interior talk with video. High Ball Productions hit a homer with this video! A must have if you like the Tehachapi loop area. None stop from Caliente up to and through Mohave. The rain affects clarity a little, but, not much. This video shows the consist at the start and during the trip.

In a word.... excellent. Tehachapi is always interesting and this video adds to it. Love how there is a trainee on board, and hearing the chatter in the cab. Lots of great action with the meets and seeing the landscape of the region. The multiple camera shots is a great touch.
