steam in the rockies vol.3 returns to the cumbes & toltec scenic railroad in the fall of 2013 with the railroads chama steam photo charter in late September and early October the event featured two historic locomotives which include k-27 mikado no.463 (nicknamed mudhen which had been restored by the c&ts earlier in the year) and visiting rio grande c-18 consolidation no.315 from durango (and also restored by the durango railroad historical society) the first day saw the 315 and the 463 double heading a fright train from chama to cumbres than the next two days saw the two engines on thier own trains the 463 hauled a fright train (as a chase train) and the 315 hauled a stock train operating from Antonito to cumbres and both engines are seen at the switches at osier so they could return to antonito for the next photo shoot the last day would see both trains coupled together with for 463 helping 315 as a mid train helper like the second vol this gives a feeling how railroad on the narrow guage was like the c&ts knows how to put on a show
