SPRINGFIELD TERMINAL
An affectionate look at the ST on the old B&M in 1990/91. We see elderly, grimy, run down second hand power, including high hood SD45's, ex Santa Fe SD26's, SD39's, SD40-2's, GP9's and GP4O's in lots of locations, plus Conrail run through power and CP and GATX on the Bow Coal trains, plus some MBTA.

This video does a good job documenting the Guilford. You'll see all kinds of different locomotives pulling a variety of trains. My personal favorite from this one was a GP9 leading a mixed freight. Being a big fan of the Guilford Rail System, I really enjoyed this program. If you have an interest in the GRS, I highly recommend this program.

This DVD will be of great value to anyone who is interested in Guilford. The image quality is not always perfect, but the content of the video makes up for it. You'll see Boston & Maine GP39-2s and the last operating GE locomotive in Guilford paint. Being true to its habit, Guilford had many locations where train speeds were down to 10 MPH allowing for a better look at the locomotives. Other freights thundered by on MBTA maintained rails. I enjoyed the program. For others, without an interest or understanding of Guilford operations, the response will be hit or miss.

The filming isn´t bad, but the picture-quality looks like a poor copy from some old VHS-tape. I bought it because there isn´t much available tapes from New England, and I have some newer Highball-productions on Canadian Roads that is very good, also technical, but this production was a disappointment.
