Not your everyday fare, the sightings of "specials" (special trains and extraordinary movements) are rare treats for the eager rail enthusiast. Southern California, especially the scenic slopes of famed Cajon Pass, provides the ideal setting for these exotic sights. Filmed at Cajon, Tehachapi, Victorville, Daggett, Fullerton, and Anaheim over a several-year period, this video treats you to a wide range of special trains. Featured are:

  • American Orient Express
  • BNSF Christmas Special
  • Metrolink Christmas Specials
  • Ringling Brothers Barnum & Bailey Circus Trains
  • UP Passenger Specials Pulled by Challenger 3985, Centennial 6936, and E-units
  • Santa Fe 3751 NRHS Convention Special
  • BNSF Track Geometry Train
  • UP Military Train
  • CSX and Norfolk Southern Power
