The Soo Line 2719 is a H-23 class 4-6-2 Pacific steam locomotive that was built by Alco in 1923. The Soo 2719 was donated to the city of Eau Claire, Wisconsin in 1960 where it was placed on display in Carson Park. The 2719 was used by the Soo Line in passenger service until it was retired by the railroad in 1959. The steamer was beautifully restored to operating condition by the Locomotive & Tower Preservation Fund in 1998 and is now once again under steam and ready to roll.

The segments shown in order in this program that was originally released in 1999 are:<br><br>1. 2719 preparing to couple up to 2 gondolas at Dresser<br><br>2. The first day of August 1998 with 1003 & Northern Pacific 328 that also includes an interview from Gary Bensman (Pentrex was also there for the rare Triple-Header which was covered in “Steam ’98”)<br><br>3. 2719 & 1003 to Chippewa Falls 3 weeks later while passing by GP9 number 559 & on the High Bridge over the St. Croix River<br><br>4. 2719 on September 19th out of Chippewa Falls while going east to Cadott for 2 trips per day with WC 3026 & a meet with a Union Pacific Coal Train<br><br>5. 2719 & 3026 to Colfax with 3017 a week later plus a cameo from 1003<br><br>And 6. A cab tour & a ride on 9-26-98 while waiting for a freight with an SP unit in the start of the sketch
