The Soo Line 2719 is a H-23 class 4-6-2 Pacific steam locomotive that was built by Alco in 1923. The Soo 2719 was donated to the city of Eau Claire, Wisconsin in 1960 where it was placed on display in Carson Park. The 2719 was used by the Soo Line in passenger service until it was retired by the railroad in 1959. The steamer was beautifully restored to operating condition by the Locomotive & Tower Preservation Fund in 1998 and is now once again under steam and ready to roll. This fascinating video features all the exciting action of its inaugural season including: • Osceola, Wisconsin Steam Fest • Double and triple headers with Soo 1003 and NP 328 • Exciting cab ride footage with crew interviews • Lots of smoke with trackside runbys and pacing scenes • Ferry moves across Wisconsin on the WC • 1998 fall excursions on the WC out of Chippewa Falls, WI on former Soo trackage
