I echo the laudatory comments of the other reviewers. I watched this in Blue Ray. I'm not high on this producer's products but I must doff my cap to him on this one. While, obviously, I have not seen all DVDs/Blue Rays about the D&S, I have seen many and this is, by far, the best of the bunch. Most show scenic highlights, especially the well known photo of the train hugging the mountain on a very narrow ledge, but this one shows it all, start to finish. Lots of beautiful scenery, less spectacular but beautiful, nevertheless, which I didn't know existed, though I suspected, as it was in the Rockies. I'm glad I bought it. I have the green frog blue ray and it is very good, but this is the best of any silverton dvd. The video is done very artistically which includes the beautiful scenery along with the trains done so well that it has you watching again. I love the narrow gauge subject and wide screen viewing, but alas the camera shake in this DVD lets it down enormously. Hand holding a wide vision camera allows all the movement to be amplified and so does this DVD no favors. The parts where the camera is not hand held are great, but are let down by the other sections. The topic is a welcome one, the ideas in the DVD are great, and yes it is informative to a non local citizen. I thought it would be better than this in quality, given the brand name.
