Pay a visit to Nevada and western Utah and the mainline of the former Western Pacific over Silver Zone Pass.

Today it's the Shafter Subdivision of the Union Pacific, and in this program you'll enjoy seeing trains running from the Great Salt Lake in Utah, west to Winnemucca, Nevada.

Along the way trains pass through the salt flats east of Wendover, then climb over Silver Zone Pass including the famous Arnold Loop.

Then the railroad continues west, passing the ghost town of Shafter, passing through Hogan Tunnel, and snaking though beautiful Palisade Canyon. Great contemporary diesel action in a beautiful western setting. Approx 70 minutes. DVD contains chapter menus and the ability to turn the narration on or off.

Interesting program on part of the old western Pacific east of the ususal Feather River Canyon. Now I know what Arnold Loop actually looks like close up. Possibility for future trip to the US.

This is a great DVD that covers an area that dosn't get much coverage. There's lots of main line action good photography, scerney and informative narration. UP's (WP)1983 Ace makes several run by's thats nice along with some interesting pool power that shows up. Its shot on a professional level so you get a good show for your money. Any modern UP fan would like this DVD and I recommend getting it for your collection.

Another great video from Railway Productions. It was an area that other filmakers haven't gone to. Narration was informative but sparse. The pictures were great. He also made sure to photograph every tunnel and bridge. Coverage of Arnold Loop was fantastic.
