Perhaps the rarest thing railroading is to see a rotary snowplow in action, even rarer if it's steam. But in this program you'll see just that as Cumbres & Toltec Rotary OY conquers Cumbres Pass in fine style.Enjoy two days of great steam action as the OY, pushed by 2-8-2's 487 and 484, clears the snow from the rails.
With three cameras, you won't miss any action at all the great places as our snowplow train clears the track ahead. As a special bonus, we'll visit some retired Rio Grande railroaders who used to run rotary trains, and also get an inside look at how the rotary works. A great addition to any railfan library!
Running time 2 hours, 5 minutes. Chapter menus and narration on or off.

In the RP Version of the recent snow busting battle on the C&TS, there are interviews which were shown from the recently turned 30 year old video: Rotary Snowplow through the Rockies. Especially Earl Knoob Showing the controls of the Plow which was also used in Rocky Mountain Snowplow from 1997 in Conjunction with Greg Scholl who also Joined Les Jarrett. Before the Run to Cumbres & the history of the Snowplow, 489 handles the Santa Claus train in the winter. 484 & 487 did a fine job Shoving OY to Cumbres which was shortly before the Outbreak of the Coronavirus from China. Aside from the RP Version iteself, other Producers were also there for the Recent Revival of the Plow since 1997: 7Idea, Jim Parfrey of Steam Train Video, Belt Line Productions, & the camera crews of the GSVP team: Ronald Burkhard, Tom Binger, Craig Linn, Roger Hogan, & Steve Forney.
