A Railfan's dream come true! Ride the cab of the Rocky Mountaineer's ex CN GP40-2L's through the stunning scenery of British Columbia's Selkirk and Rocky Mountains and see the engineers view of inaccessible Kicking Horse Canyon and the interior of the Connaught Tunnel. The main view is straight ahead, with picture in picture of the scenery and crew. Hear the locomotives work, in cab conversations, (some conversations have been edited to protect the guilty!) radio talk, and see the engineer and conductor at work.

Pretty much what I expected from High Ball Productions and Peter Crook, on this 2001 release. Straight ahead camera view, with periodic on-screen inserts of the crew, looking back from rear-view mirror, and scenery. Videography is very good, with no vibration. Audio (train radio, engine noise, and crew-conversations) is fairly clear. The scenery is excellent, featuring tall, majestic trees, and snow capped mountains. Could only have been better if it had been a clear day, rather than cloudy/overcast skies. I was hoping to see more meets (I believe there were 4), but not much can be done about that. Overall, a decent release, and would definitely be of interest to those who enjoy cabrides through a beautiful area.
