C. Vision Productions takes you back to the 1960's to view original operations on the Rock Island Mid-continent Route. Captured from the film camera of Louis Schaefer, you will see The Rock operating between St. Paul, Minnesota and Mason City, Iowa along with a few other Iowa locations.

Passenger trains are seen led with E-3's and E-8's. Joint power from CB&Q is also captured on the Zephyr Rocket. Freight trains are led with a variety of Rock Island power including F-7's, Alco FA1's, GP-7's and GE U-Boats. Paint schemes include Maroon's, Red's and the Light Blue's.

Louis also captured trackage rights trains from the Illinois Central and Chicago & North Western that operated on the Mid-continent Route. One train was led with Chicago Great Western locomotives and another with all CNW F Units!

As an added bonus, Louis captures several scenes of the late short line, Minneapolis Northfield & Southern operating in and around Northfield, Minnesota.

You don't want to miss this production of two classic Fallen Flags in Rock Island's Midcontinent Route in the 1960's!

Scratchy old film, but since coverage of the part of the Rock Island is rare, I'll take it. My personal home movies are much worse, so you take what you can get.
Additional comments:
Narration: Just enough.
Would kids enjoy this? I doubt it.
Image quality: Poor.
Value: Fair.
Recommend? Yes.
