I enjoy the narrow gauge steam of Colorado, and I've always liked the quality of discs from this company, so I always was going to enjoy this Disc. This is a fabulous Disc apart from the minor irritation of a hand held camera on a moving train. On a big screen TV this movement is accentuated and distracts from an otherwise winning presentation. This Disc held my attention for its whole duration, and I derived much pleasure from viewing it. If you like narrow gauge steam this disc is for you. Bluray clarity is wonderful to the eye.

This is a great quality video, very well produced. As a fan of the Colorado Narrow Gauge it was of special interest to me and I wasn't disappointed. It is nice to see a video devoted to a different engine from the usual mikados found on the narrow gauge, and the footage of the Galloping Goose was also great. Highly recommended for anybody that loves the narrow gauge.

I haven't actually seen the movie, other than the few minutes on the web page. I sent it as a gift to my 2-year old grandson, who loves trains. He loved this video.

2-8-0 Consolidation #315 was built in 1895 by Baldwin for the Florence and Cripple Creek Railroad as their #3. After a major flood in 1912, the F&CC was unable to finance the cost of rebuilding and ceased operations. 315 was stranded until being bought by the Denver and Rio Grande where it served until 1948 (315 was leased to RGS for 2 years). 315 was displayed in various parks until 2001, when the Durango Railroad Historical Society restoration began. This DVD was shot in July 2008. This DVD is in the 16X9 Widescreen format.

<p>The program begins at Antonito, following 315 on 4 photo freight trips, 2 of which run the entire length of the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad. The photographers are transported ahead of the train in Rio Grande Southern Galloping Goose #5. The 315 looks very impressive and sounds fantastic on this line where we normally see only the bigger 1925 vintage Baldwin 2-8-2s. The first trip runs from Antonito to Osier, the 2nd from Antonito to Cumbres and the last 2 from Chama east to Cumbres. 315 puts on a great show on the 4 percent grade between Chama and Cumbres.

<p>Narration is adequate and informative. Location markers are displayed for most locations. Les Jarrett's photography is excellent. This DVD is one that I have enjoyed watching several times (after the first time I turned the narration off). Particularly enjoyable is seeing more of the entire line than what most other C&TS videos show. The kids will like 315's stack talk and whistle, and the really loud air horn on #5. Note: according to the counter on my DVD player, the running time for this DVD is 2 hours.

What can I say About this one? It is absolutely awesome! It brings back to the switch of the 19th to 20th centuries, when 315 operated over 110 years ago! Not To Mention A bonus segment featuring the galloping goose!
