The 1960’s were a time for change in the railroad industry. Passenger train service was diminishing. Freight service was not holding its own on many roads.
It was during this time that noted photographer Jerry Carson chose to capture these major changes in America’s railroads. This video covers Missouri Pacific, Norfolk & Western, Gulf Mobile and Ohio, Pennsylvania Railroad, The Frisco, and The Manufacturers Railroad (Owned by Anheiser Busch.) Photographed in crisp, sharp 16mm.
