Not only does this 1992 video feature a parade of Steam & Diesels on both the Nickel Plate Road & the Akron Canton & Youngstown railroad with 0-6-0s, 2-8-2s, the 100 series Hudsons, the Mighty 700 Series Berkshires with 767 for instance as well as one since-scrapped steam locomotive referenced to a Lake Superior & Ishpeming 2-8-0 at the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad: 734 that is, GP18s, GP9s, ALCO PAs, Fairbanks Moorse switchers, an ALCO RS-36, Chesapeake & Ohio's own GP9s, & diesels by ALCO & Fairbanks Moorse on the AC&Y, but also a visit from Reading T-1 class 4-8-4 Number 2102 operating an excursion from Akron to Spencer in April of 1971 which is about a month before the biggest history was made in American Passenger Railroading: the debut of Amtrak. Today 2102 is owned by the Reading & Northern in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania. These films were photographed from the Spring of 1954 to April of 1971, & some of them were also shown in volumes 2 & 5 of the Top Frog collection.
