Featuring: • Central Maine & Quebec Railway • Pan Am Railways • St. Lawrence & Atlantic Railroad • New Hampshire Northcoast Railroad
See these four fascinating New England shortline and regional railroads as they travel the rails across the scenic states of Maine and New Hampshire. The exciting railroad action includes yard switching, locals and road freights. A nice variety of trains are seen as they work the rail lines through quaint communities, rustic forests and over large trestles and rushing rivers. Diesel power includes a great sampling of rare and vintage units including: SW1500, GP9, GP18, GP35, GP38-2, GP38-3, GP40, GP40-2LW, SD40-2, SD40-2F, GE C40-8. Rail footage era spring of 2017 from the camera of Bradley A. Plets.

I generally like this producers videos, primarily because he does his homework and gives a lot of information. However, the video itself I found boring. The quality of the videography is excellent but consists almost totally of slow moving trains, one after another. All but one of the trains were in Maine, and in spite of the title "Maine - New Hampshire" only the very last train shown was in New Hampshire.

I purchased this program a month ago, and had some technical problems with this program, using my Samsung Bluray player. At the suggestion from Plets, I purchased a Sony player and now have no issues with this program. Plets has done a great job, providing lots of rare Motive Power with many paint schemes. The coverage of the SD40-2F's is wonderful and no one else I know has shot these rare units in Bluray. Also other rare motive power is viewed, GP-9's painted in as delivered schemes for the Boston & Maine and Maine Central, switching cars. Great to watch along with road freights on the Pan Am Railroad. If you want to get away from endless GE Widecabs, most programs feature, you will surely enjoy this presenatation. Very well done, and I prefer slow running trains, especially with rare motive power up front. You can actually read the road numbers with ease.
