Kansas City in 1993 is a busy and colorful place when it comes to railroads. This is before the merger mania of just a few years into the future and we get to see quite a few trains from quite a few railroads and quite a few paint schemes as we investigate the Mainlines into Kansas City!We'll see the the usual suspects: Santa Fe, BN, UP and SP. But we'll also see the CNW, Soo, NS, Gateway Western and Kansas City Southern. Off road power comes from GM, Conrail and CSX. We'll see Amtrak and both the ATSF and UP steam programs make an appearance!This program was shot using professional equipment of the time, but is not up to the clarity of today's high-definition video. It is however an excellent snapshot of an important time in the nation's railroad history. The DVD is divided into almost 100 chapters allowing quick access to various program sections.
