Rosenberg, Texas, about 35 miles southwest of Houston, is one of the last two operating towers in Texas still in their original buildings. BNSF crosses UP's busy Sunset Route, making for some colorful and busy railroading. Both UP & BNSF have small yards here, with locals, and orders are hooped up to trains going from the BNSF to the UP. See all the action at rosenberg from dawn to after dark.

Rosenberg Texas... For myself... a location where there is a diamond is always great. Here we see BNSF crossing the UP. With that comes lots of interesting power from the companies present day (at the time of filming) to the older fallen flags. And seeing the old tower in many shots is great. Well done.

This program covers action at Tower 17 in Rosenberg, TX on one day in December 1999 from 7:15 AM to 6:30 PM covering 11 hours of train-watching.
Many trains are featured from Union Pacific's Glidden Sub and BNSF's Galveston Sub although a few KCS trains are seen as well having trackage rights on UP.
One of the highlights of this program, however, is the appearance of Amtrak's eastbound pre-Katrina Sunset Limited arriving at 5:35 PM on BNSF trackage instead of UP trackage. As a result, the train is 9 hours late having supposed to have arrived at 8:35 AM!

Just received this program, and I must admit, I really enjoyed seeing older power still around in December, 1999. Great Dash 7 action, with Southern Pacific, Santa Fe and UP Older GE's, along with a power set of SP SDP45, UP SD60M and older Dash 7 power. Lots of action and never boring. Best Dash 7 coverage around.
