This program features trains on 3 different mainlines through Centralia: the Southern (now NS) between Louisville and St. Louis, the CB&Q (later BN and now BNSF) Beardstown Sub from Galesburg , IL to Paducah, KY and the Illinois Central (now CN) mainline from Chicago, IL to New Orleans, LA. Unlike the earlier Hot Spots series, there are no time stamps for each train that goes through as the previous Hot Spot, Willard, was the last program in the series to use this model. Amtrak's "Illini" makes 2 appearances. Other than that, there is only introductory narration and then the trains do the talking for the rest of the program.

An action packed program, showing many BNSF coal trains, NS various movements and CN GE Widecabs, SD40's along with IC SD70'S. A few Amtrak trains also show up. Never a dull moment.
