What a DVD, you certainly will not fall asleep during this one. The interesting variety is terrific and the quality good. Its nice to see the older diesels going back as far as the SW1200 still in regular service and in SOO line white, the green BN SD9's and a host of others from numerous railroads and fallen flags. One scene shows two freights from different roads arriving and entering the yards on adjacent tracks, both moving off at the same time with locos side by side, something you do not see often. Its one you will view time and again. Buy it. Hot Rails Through the Twin Cities DVD UK Phil on 2010-03-30 11:57:03.

Minneapolis/St. Paul Minnesota. Truly a hot spot for trains. In 1998, there were no less than 8 different railroads including Amtrak serving the Twin Cities. Every type of rail move possible is seen in this video, from a wide variety of locations. Yard work, local transfers, and long distance trains make there way around town. Trains like Amtrak's Empire Builder to and from the west coast, or Canadian Pacfic trains with international shipments, or local inner city trains like Minnesota Commercial. It's all here on one video. It is not unusual to witness more than one train in a scene, from 2 different companies. Scenes of trains crossing the Mississippi River in the downtown core of the cities. There is even a Steam Excursion train for the steam lovers. Here is a video for every one, that the entire family will see something that is of enjoyment. High recommendations for this excellent presentation. This DVD was fantastic! Whatever your interest is in railroading, you'll be sure to find it in this DVD. Alco's, EMD's, GE's, yards, bridges, long freights, locals, Amtrak passenger trains and the Milwaukee Road #261 are all here. Between the volume and variety of the trains, in addition to the different locations, it is impossible to get bored with this video. Pentrex hosts a great tour of the Twin Cities- don't miss it! |
